I'm glad you liked the dynamic between Watson and Holmes. And Watson's feelings were part of what I wanted to capture in the time following Reichenbach. A kiss would have been nice, but I decided to go the route of Watson being overwhelmed simply by Holmes' presence instead, to the exclusion of anything/one else. Glad you noticed the reference. XD
